Plan: A Card A Day For the Month of November

This weekend I went to the 5th? annual scrapbook weekend with my fab 4 friends. We went out to dinner Friday night on our way to a local craft store in Colorado Springs called Simple Pleasures. Although I didn't need anything, I came out 40.00 poorer. Thank You Caryn for my beautiful stamp (to be revealed in a later post).

We spent the weekend in Marcy's beautiful country home that felt like a lodge and I enjoyed delicious food and yummy coconut chocolate almond balls from Costco courtesy of Angela. I laughed a bunch and it was awesome to wake up surrounded by pine trees when I wanted as opposed to be woken up by a kid wanting something :) It's the simple things, you know?

For the first time, I made cards. I am starting to enjoy cards more than scrapbooking. It made me kind of sad because I am so behind and could have used the weekend to feel a little more caught up. I am not sure if I will stick with just cards in the long term, but giving myself permission to let it go for a little bit was liberating.

I made 38 cards! It was fun to use all the stamps and supplies I had gotten and never got to use. I challenged myself to try to make a variety of cards this year for the holidays instead of just 1 design massed produced a 100 times (or so).

In honor of my fun weekend, I am going to "try" to post a card (mostly Christmas card) a day for the entire month of November. I have never posted every single day for the whole month before, but I think it will be a fun challenge. Plus, I want to end the year with a bang! I hope you will join me.

This simple banner card is one that is easy to mass produce and the original design I had in mind for my holiday cards before I came up with my NEW plan.  The stamps are from Penny Black called Christmas Banners.

  1. FOR REAL?!!! 38 cards!!!! Unbelievable! That is a great challenge. Scrapbooking for me is definitely a challenge. I don't consider myself crafty at all. I have about 12 pages to complete for Joshua's baby album by the end of the year. Sadly, I do not think that will happen. Simply because I feel time is running out with the holidays approaching. Once done with that, the pressure is off since I will only have simple layouts for their school albums. I wish I could craft more in general, but the time just isn't there. Kuddos to you for giving it a shot. I can't wait to see what you create!!!!!

  16. You seriously made 38 cards? You rock Wida. Your weekend sounds lovely! My scrapbooking is so behind, I turned to cards when my children were small because I did not have time to scrapbook. In two years my youngest it off to Univesity and then I can scrapbook. Enjoy your mini masterpieces in cardmaking!
