Simon Says Stamp Challenge GD Anything Goes

I am sad to say this is my last week as guest designer for Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog :( I am ending the guest spot with a card using some of my favorite products. I took Craftwork Candi and glued them at the bottom of my tag like sprinkles. Out came the tilted banner die and sentiment set from SSS, some Basic Grey paper and voila! A card!

I want to thank everyone at Simon Says Stamp Challenge for being so nice to me and my rogue ways. Thanks for having me, I had so much fun with the challenges.

I hope you will play along too this time around by clicking below:

GCD Studios Shaped Baby Card

Making a shaped card without using a die cut machine can be tricky, but I set out to do just that. I found a great tutorial on how to make baby onesie cards using punches and standard card stock HERE. Using the versatile Special Delivery collection from GCD Studio's made finding the perfect papers easy.

I had so much fun making the first card that I created another!

This card is a bit larger than standard, it measured 5x6inches. I used the pretty papers from the Special Delivery Collection by GCD Studios and my scalloped circle punch to create the trim. A sweet brad also from the collection gives it a finished touch. The cardstock had some texture to it, so I left it be, but you could dry emboss a texture onto plain cardstock if you wanted to.

A close up of the boy card...It is smaller. I started out with a standard 4.5x5.25 inch card base. Again the brads from this collection work great for a boy or girl themed project.

I saw this sentiment and it made me chuckle a bit...hope you do too!

Paper Smooches Picture Perfect June

I don't color, so I paper pierced the globe. And here's a trick if you find you stamped something just a teeny tiny bit crooked...TAKE THE PICTURE WITH THE CARD AT AN ANGLE. Makes the error a little less obvious ;)

This TIP brought to you by BEACHORADO: where we say "Crooked can be OK."

Mission Ignition #4

Here to give you some tips on getting the MOJO going by revisiting the color series this month.

and just for fun seeing what we can do with dies and punches

Challenges are a great way to find great color combinations. One of my favorites is the Tuesday Trigger by Moxi Fab World. In making the below card, I used this Tuesday Trigger photo.

I not only used the colors as inspiration, but also the photo.

I have ONE MORE card on the A Blog Named Hero site if you want to see how color and dies work together :)

See you next month!

Super-Brella and One of my Favorite Cards I Have Ever Made

My blogging pal and teamie on 2 design teams, Nina Yang,  has designed some super timeless stamps and matching dies that you HAVE to get. the sizes of the tags are perfect and the style will never be dated. The die even comes with a reinforcer so its super trendy too! With the sets I made this card. I have to say I adore it!

The possibilities are endless...

Simply Tags can be found at Avery Elle! I used the stripes from the Texture Tiles stamp set on the small tag and the small heart from the Simple tags set in the center.

The strip on the side of the square came from the American Crafts paper pack which had the complimentary strip of patterned paper already in place. I just made my square die fit above the hole in the center.

I am entering this in the Moxi Fab World The Mixy-Match Challenge.

I must share my latest purchase with you all. It's called a SUPERBRELLA and it's awesome!! Here is a pic from the internet. Got mine from the Home Depot for 39.99. My kids love it. It's half tent half umbrella!

RIC #38

A while back my teamie Tasnim sent me some glitter pens. Best gift ever for this glitter lover! So I put them to use on this card.

Here is how I did it:
1. clear emboss the stamp (it's by Penny Black called Flower Poetry)
2. Ink it up with some olive distress ink
3. die cut with circle shape
4. Embellish with glitter pens

Won't you join us on Runway Inspired Challenge this time? The prize is a gift certificate to Ellen Hutson!  Check out the best DT EVER!

GCD Studios A card for father's day

Father's Day is fast approaching and I wanted to make my dad a hip card because that's the kind of guy he is! I love the cool vibe of the arrow patterned paper of the Special Delivery Paper Pack from GCD Studios. I combined it with the bold blue of the "Heidi" pattern for a fun look!

This card just happens to be my submitting card for my application for the Paper Smooches DT...and I made the team with it! YEAH!!

I am going to enter this in the Moxi Fab World Tuesday Trigger, I love the idea of many patterns coming together and working to create an interesting design.

The Paper Cut June 2013

The June issue of the Paper Cut is available now! It's Free!! The magazine features GCD Studios products, a fantastic design team, and a card made by yours truly :)

A little stitching on the "grass" gives some much needed texture.

Lately I have had fun decorating the inside of the card as well...I find punny sentiments funny, don't you?

Another week of some Simon Says Challenge Blog guesting,  this time the challenge is TRANSPORT. Ok well I was trying to make a card that fit this theme, but somehow I translated transport to the synonym fly away...hence my butterfly. Using your IMAGINATION to be transported somewhere else.

I know, I know, its a stretch. But can you just play along?

I put some stickles along the edge of the butterfly for some extra pop!

A Blog Named Hero and Neat and Tangled UNITE!

Today we are showcasing a special collaboration at a Blog Named Hero. I chose to work with Swirly Twirly Tags from Neat and Tangled Stamps. Sometimes you make a card and you think...now who am I gonna give this to?

Well I actually gave this to a neighbor who gave us some fresh eggs from her CHICKENS! HA! Love it when a card and situation come together like that. Now check out A Blog Named Hero and see what the other gals came up with using their Neat & Tangled Stamps!
