A Lesson

You ever make a card and think to yourself, WHO MADE THIS? That is what happened to me while  creating with the latest Paper Made Bakery Kit. You can get yours HERE.

I started to design...then kept adding...and adding...and adding. Once I was done, well, I didn't recognize myself in the work. Now I know you all will be nice and say, "nice card", (good blog etiquette would recommend it, but I didn't feel it was blog worthy at all. If you must see it, click HERE

But I warn you, it's not pretty.

So I made this:

and I felt better...

Here is a shot of the inside. I used my silhouette to make a pop up card.

Today's lesson: You have to feel good about what you make.

  5. I totally know what you mean...when I do that, I've usually spent WAY too much time struggling and then ditch the card and get back to doing something I love. This second card is more your style...fresh and fun! I love the conversation you've started, though. Create what you love :)

  6. I totally agree you have to feel good about your work, and sometimes it just doesn't click, but seriously, I love the other card!! No fake ettiquette here! :-) The second one is beautiful too, I love how you've decorated the inside!

    Love Beth xx

  7. You're right on two points...you absolutely must love or at least like what you make! Your cards, in our little part of cyberspace, become a representation of yourself. Also, I am not in love with your first card either. It's cute, and there are parts of it that work, but you took those parts and used them in your second card, which is fabulous! I especially love the pop up inside - so fun!

  8. Girl, I love both cards! I do understand what you are saying about a card that you aren't crazy about designing, though. I've been there. What was the font that you used with your silhouette? I've been trying to find some more to download. Love the one you used!

  9. Both your cards are fab! And I agree, you can't love everything you make, but I am often so surprised that the cards that I am 'iffy' about often receive the most amazing comments and the ones that 'I' love are barely recognized. So it really doesn't matter, it is all about fun and creation after all. ps the pop up tea cups inside ROCK!

  10. Both are great cards Wida but yes I see more of you in your second card. You gotta love what you do or you loose a little something of yourself.

  17. OK I had to peek at the one that didn't make you happy - but I thought the other one was cute too. This one is more stream lined and clean - but I liked those clever side ways hearts. HONEST! But then you know I'm a fru fru kind of gal. Sorry (do I need to aplogise for that?) Those tea cups on the inside are amazing - how fun that would be to open!
