Sophia, age 9: "Mom, why do they call it a pair of underwear when there is only one?"
Me, age 36: uhhhh...

Oh this is so pretty Wida! I love the colors, the combination of dies, the papers, the numbers...everything!! No wonder you made multiple cards!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous design!
ReplyDeleteHA...good question...I googled it: http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=212568
This is so beautiful, Wida! The patterned paper really brings the flower and leaves to life.
ReplyDeleteOk, I think I can help you with Sophia's question. Tell her that things that are meant for double parts of the body or that are made of two similar (and usually simetrical) parts are called pairs. A pair of trousers (two legs), glasses (two eyes), gloves (two hands), scissors (two simetrical parts). I guess in the case of underwear there are two holes for our two legs. Don't ask me why bra is singular though, lol!
what a beautiful card :) :)
ReplyDeleteswoon! LOVE these cards. Seriously gorgeous. Did you do your diffused light thing? Love the pictures too :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Wida! Love the design focusing on the top of the card and the color palette is so soft and pretty! Sophia is a total doll!

ReplyDeleteWida, try googling a vintage pair of bloomers with your daughter, which had TWO legs...great history lesson and chance to giggle!
ReplyDeleteLovely CAS cards, by the way...
Love the numbers with all the white.... a pair of legs?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous set! Love this composition! I think Loren is so right!
ReplyDeleteSIMPLY Adore this one! I LIKE how the twine is loose..it gives it a whimsical feel.
ReplyDeleteVery Beachorado colos:)
So pretty and CAS! Love it Wida! Oh and I would say because it has two leg holes and hope that the conversation just ends there....
ReplyDeleteThe numbers are wonderful on this card and the loosely tied twine is so pretty too! Hmmmmmmm, great observation by your daughter. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Wida! Love these floral dies....I need to dig (I mean literally dig) them out again! They look fabulous with all those patterns!
ReplyDeleteAnd.....not sure what to say about the underwear! I got a laugh out of it tho! Hugs!

ReplyDeleteoooh, love this design and the super-fresh colors, Wida! The numbers on the top are great! Aren't you so happy coming up with a beautiful design and having it be easily repeatable? Interesting on the underwear. I haven't gotten that question yet. My boys are too busy wrestling each other : )
