I am a mom and a nurse (among many things). For these reasons though, I have very rarely had long or manicured fingernails. There is just no point. But the dream was always there... because polished, shiny nails meant that you took care of yourself.
In my quest to be better about maintaining some sort of level of pretty, I decided that I would focus on my toes. See finger nails were tough to keep up, but toe nails seemed more reasonable. And besides, nail polish doesn't come in sizes. It doesn't require a fitting or adjustments. It's just pretty and accepts you always, just the way you are. Pedicures are unconditional love.
I began looking for a good color, looking at toe after toe for just the right shade. Browsing the Sephora store, I found it! It is by ILLAMASQUE called Collide. I was EXCITED!
...then a little sad. $18.00 for 1 bottle of this liquid gold. I tried to walk away. It was too much. But I couldn't get this color out of my mind. I splurged.
it
was
worth
every
penny.
It doesn't chip, it goes on with a single coat, absolutely shiny and lovely.
A small price to pay to feel wonderful! (total cost $28.00 if you include the $10.00 Target flip flops)
My card today for today features puffy star die by Lawn Fawn. It's a fun shape! Sequins from my friend Yuki. Where are you YUKI??? The paper is Crate Paper Acorn Avenue. Sentiment is from Hero Arts/Studio Calico Darling Dear.

I am entering the Moxi Fab World All that Glitters is Gold challenge. To create the glitter effect, I used some 1/2 inch scor-tape, and sprinkled gold glitter directly on top. EASY and mess free...SCORE.
So basically paint your toes and glitter up your cards...it will make you feel fabulous!
I have a poll going on with a chance for a prize, if you are interested, click HERE
Wida, you spoke to my heart! I am of the same thinking about manicures...VERY rarely get them, but my toes? Always have a bright cheery colour that lasts for weeks! I am so glad you went and spoiled those toes with that fabulous nail colour...I'm going to look for it too and splurge :) Thank you for inspiring!
ReplyDeleteLove that color! Gorgeous toes and card!
ReplyDeleteHa! I have neon pink on my toes (it's actually been there since the end of summer vacation - shows how much care my toesies get) but it still looks good and makes me happy every time I catch a peek of my toes. Mine was part of a 4 pack of pinks from Meijer, but what the heck!
ReplyDeleteFun chevrons on your card, too!
:-) Pretty toes! I also don't paint my nails, but through Summer, I always have pretty toes. Great colour! Your card is gorgeous, too! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the new blog look - that dot = AWESOME! Also loving the look into a little bit of your life. I'm with you on manicures - don't last five minutes but give me pretty toes any day! Oh and the card is lovely too - always love a bit of negative die cutting :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card! I don't do manicures either, but I've always wanted to. I'm seeing all those amazing Essie colours so maybe... just maybe I'll try it once :D
ReplyDeleteI love the gold and your sequins are perfectly placed! I am completely uninformed about pedicures. I have never had one, and maybe a manicure twice in my life....it's not worth it when you play hockey for the fingers, and the toes, well, I don't like people to touch my feet. Weird, I know.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you treat your toes! The color is fabulous. I'm a big advocate of pedicures...especially during the cold winters.
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous, and I love the big negative space for the stars. Great design!
I don't paint my fingernails, either, Wida, only my toes. I never used to bother in the winter, but now, with taekwondo (we train barefoot), I have them painted all year long. I don't think I've ever spent that much on a bottle of nail polish... I usually buy OPI.
ReplyDeleteYour card is totally sweet!
I used to have long finger nails, and usually painted them. I don't seem to have the time anymore and as I *age* my nails don't look as pretty. Arrrhg! But toenails are so much easier to keep looking great. Love the color you chose...and those Target flip flops!
ReplyDeleteOh, love your card with that pretty patterned paper and negative star die-cuts!
that's a fab color! i don't wear nail polish, but love seeing it prettily done on others. looks good on your toes! me likey your card a lot! so cute and love the use of the negative cut from the stars!
ReplyDeleteAren't sexy feet so fun! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the color of your toes! and the fun cut out stars on your card design!
ReplyDeleteOK, toes, card, card, toes... card is just darling, love that fatty star die.
ReplyDeleteMuch more fun are those toes. Love pedicures and that color is wild! Wonder if our Target has those flips?
Beautiful card!!! Love the stars and the sequins!!
ReplyDeleteI am painting my toes for the last 13 years or so.I can not stand looking at them without polish! ;) I just started painting my fingernails in June.Because after many many years,i was able to let them grow! And my daughter, always came home with the most beautiful colors of polish she bought, thats how i got hooked on polish, esp bright colors! Now we can swap back and forth!I :) I love the color you got!!! Looks awesome!!
Such pretty toenails with such a perfect colour! My toenails really need a fresh coat of something at the moment - they have been neon yellow over Summer but now it's time for a change! Pretty card too, stars and sequins are always awesome to me!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the toenails! LOVE the color! And your card is so adorable. The stars are so fun!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the negative space use! Great card!
