Inspired by THIS pin on Pinterest, I made this card:
I liked it but after deliberating with some blogging buddies Elena and Debby, I revamped the card just a pinch...sometimes a card conference is necessary to bring out your best work.
Supplies:
Stamp: Petal Party by Penny Black
Dies: Tag die by Penny Black
Other: versamark and white embossing powder
Ever have an occasion and look at your stash of cards and have NOT A SINGLE card that fits. I think to myself, for goodness sakes I make cards and I got NOTHIN'. So I decided a generic card stash was in order and came up with this one. Could be good for any occasion really. I like to do a self test:
Sympathy? Sure the kraft makes it somber
Birthday? Why not, it's fresh like another year about to start for the birthday recipient
Anniversary? You betcha, it's a LOVE-ly card!
If your card meets all the requirements, you have yourself a perfect GENERIC card!
it turned out AWESOME! i love the black bloom :)
ReplyDeleteMUCH better! Love how the flower pops up more! Card conferencing with some of the most talented designers are awesome :D
ReplyDeleteYou really rock the twine Wida! Gorgeous tags both versions but like the popped up flower :)
ReplyDeleteso simple and sweet!
ReplyDeleteI like the first. I LOVE the second!
ReplyDeleteI really, really love this simple beauty. You know what though, I actually kinda love the first one the most. I just really love it's simple effortlessness. The second one is very striking, though, too.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not picking sides here, but I came to comment to say I love the first one - in my reader I figured it was your tweaked card. I love that outline bloom off the edge. What I love most is that tag shape. That's cool.
ReplyDeleteah the twine and the bow...they look so captivating! Very beautiful card, Wida, just love the colors and the simple design :) I got to be honest though, I like the first one better, as I find the flower in harmony with the twine, whilst it the second one, they are kind of competing :) Still, both very awesome!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Wida! That color Combe makes such a fun statement...love it!
ReplyDeleteBoth are quite nice, but I like how the dark flower pops :) This is a great case to CASE.
ReplyDeleteI love them both, but my fave is the 1st one. I love the colours with the kraft - very cool! Also love the idea of advice from blog buddies - great idea for a whole new blog project - somewhere we can go to tweek our creations!
ReplyDeleteI always love to see how your cards evolve! Love your generic card...could be good for get well soon too!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love the embossing on black and that great twine!
ReplyDeleteOh, so SWEET!! Love! :)
ReplyDeleteYes! Although I love the original version, the revamped version definitely has some BAM :)
ReplyDeleteLove the added POP of black Wida :)

Yes, I do think the results of the card conference was worth it! The first one is very nice but the added color gives it great dimension!
ReplyDeletesimplicity at its best, I don't know I like the first one too.
ReplyDeleteI've fallen behind in my commenting . . . I saw this a while back and thought "how pretty". I love both versions but the first one appeals to my sense of minimalism.
