Ombre is best when it just comes ready made...Thanks CP! I love this pretty little bouquet. I "colored" it with water colors. Don't look too close, it's very sloppy. I meant it to...kinda. I was trying to be Danielle Flanders. I wish I did it with more whimsy. Mine seems forced. Maybe I should have just been me!
January marks my 3rd year anniversary of blogging. I am going through a "thing" right now with blogging. Lots of internal dialogue about what my journey is right now, and why, and all that. I spent a lot of time on this little blog and it's been incredible but oh my gosh, things have changed. But more of that later.
In celebration, I am giving away a Mama Elephant stamp set ARTIC PENGUINS (I ordered at midnight and somehow I ended up with 2 of these and so...it's time to share!) Just leave a comment here commenting on who made your favorite card of 2014....and/or what one card making skill you wish you did better....or/and one thing you are grateful for. Comments end Saturday Jan 31st.

ReplyDeleteTo pick just one card for 2014 is impossible. I love Debby Hughes simply but elegant style...so if I could design like someone...it would be her! Thanks for the chance to win, happy blog anniversary!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree too hard for I see so many cards daily.... Love your ombre CP DP and your watercoloring too... I wish I was better at Watercoloring, and I am thankful for this community too, so many wonderful inspiring people!!!

ReplyDeleteWida, my wish is that I could see a challenge and an idea just jump into my heaf. Too new at it to really think for myself, I find my ideas are mixes of all the other people I follow. I would like to have my style!!
ReplyDeleteHappy 3 year blogging anniversary! I hope you will still be sharing your creativity with us in the future. A crafting world without Wida would be sad. XOX
ReplyDeletewida...happy blogaversary! You know that I've been a fan of your blog and your work...don't leave us.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogaversary, Wida, and how wonderful to see your creativity again! In answer to your questions: my dad passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 30th (heavy heart), and the outpouring of love I received from this crafting community was beyond heart-warming and heart-touching. From sympathy cards, to personal notes, I truly felt immense compassion and support, which helped me to be strong for my mom in the day's immediately after my dad's passing, and now, as we try to 'transform' our lives along this new path. My favourite card is not one, but the nearly 40 (FORTY!!) that I received from my blogging friends; I'm so grateful to be part of this community! I treasure everyone I've met...I'm blessed!
ReplyDeleteHugs~c
Definitely have had those moments. My blog has been a weird rollercoaster over the years. I think unless its a source of income for you, it's most satisfying to just let it be what you need it to be at any given moment.
ReplyDeleteAs for my favorite card, give me anything by Laura Bassen, and I'm really happy!
Hi Wida... I may be the "new kid" on the blog... pun intended. So if you leave me now, you take away a very big part of what keeps my juices flowing. Wait. I think I totally just stole part of a song lyric there. Happy blogaversary, Wida. I could not pick a favorite card, but this one totally does it for me. "Fresh" comes to mind.

I adore your water coloring! Danielle is fabulous, isn't she? She makes her style look so effortless. I wish I was better at layering/shabby chic but I usually end up with a more CAS style. :) I think we always envy what we don't "have"! I am grateful to have this hobby and all of my blog/internet friends to share with! Thanks for the chance to win the cute penguin!
ReplyDeleteI do love that ombre paper too! Um, I wish I was better at stamping. Seriously....I can't stamp straight to save my life and it often results in a lot of wasted paper and under the breath cursing....
ReplyDeleteLove this, Wida! It's beautiful! I sure wish my coloring skills were better (still trying, though)! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty!! I love the look of ombre everything! I don't know that I can pinpoint a single favorite card, but I can pick a cardmaker being Debby Hughes... her work always makes me drool! LOVE it! ummm as far as something to improve... coloring! I wish I was better at shading and blending, I'm trying! And I am grateful for life... everything in it... everything about it... the good the bad and the ugly! Thanks so much for the chance!!! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWida, I hope your next blog direction includes continuing to make beautiful cards and sharing with us! You're still one of my very favourite people! :-) I have so many favourites, but the favourite card from 2014 that includes a technique that intrigues me and that I am yet to attempt is by Deanna Jean (who is sadly not very active at the moment, blogwise). Here's the link: http://klosetkreations.blogspot.com.au/2014/09/ill-try-that-again.html
ReplyDeleteWida I love your blog. I can't pick a favorite card but I guess one person I learn a lot from is Jennifer McGuire. I love her easy going style and her organization. Helps motivate me. Love your blog and feel blessed for all the wonderful stamping community and friends you can make on the blogs.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for you and others who share their ideas and techniques with me. so freely ........ I wish my watercoloring was more "whimsical"......I'm too much of an "in-the-lines" person!

Love your blog and your card making inspires me...really it does. I wish I could color images better. I just attempted watercoloring an image and it wasn't so bad...I even shared it but I would love to be able to color any image and make it come to life. There are just so many cutes images out there!
ReplyDeleteThere were so many beautiful cards made last year, I could never name one as favorite...but I am very thankful for the kind generosity of those who blog and share their creativity and talents with us! You inspire and bring joy along this journey of creativity. Thank you for sharing your talents and inspiration! You are much appreciated and not taken for granted!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogaversary! I don't think I can pick just one card for 2014 so I will go with what I am grateful for which is, meeting you and your friendship :) We miss you in Colorado!
ReplyDeleteNo penguin stamp for me, please, Wida, as I already have plenty of penguins, but I did want to tell you I like your watercolored bouquet very much! And I want to congratulate you on your 3rd blog birthaversary!! I hope as you review your options that you stay blogging in some form because you have too much talent not to share it so it can inspire others! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteHappy 3rd Anniversary!! I bet a lot of things have changed during that time. I love the ombre look and my favourite colour is turquoise, so just LOVE this card. Would absolutely love to win the penguins as I don't do much colouring and these guys don't require anything at all....perfect!!! Thanks so much for the chance to win!! And good luck with everything going on in your mind right now......
ReplyDeleteI would like to become proficient at adding mixed media techniques to my cards. Also, have not tried the ink splatter technique and would like to make some cards using that technique. Love your card - such a clean, crisp look. Thanks for a chance to win the cute penguin set and Happy Blogaversary.

Your card is blue...you're melancholy, but there's HOPE in those golden stars!
ReplyDeleteOh, Don't go away little girl!...I miss Iwona's work so very much. Without YOUR pops of surprise elements to inspire, I'm afraid the card world will turn back to old lady doldrums...You know what I mean! I can see it happening already!
There are too many favorite from 2014 to choose just one...I am intrigued with learning how to color without COPICs...using highlights... ie watercolor.
Happy Blog-o-versary! Please stay..even just once every other week!
I have found a NEW to ME card maker...Nillas Kort. Her work is LIGHT and Fresh! Here is her blog link.

ReplyDeleteLove the red flowers over ombre blue stripes BG, gorgeous card. Happy blogversary, I am celebrating my 2nd :D Looks like January is the month to start blogging and get hooked forever :D
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I love the colors and bit of sparkle!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card!
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful Wida!!! I have so many favorite cards from last year - NO way I could pick one favorite! There is just too much inspiration and talent out there! I have been incredibly grateful this past month or two for lots of time to play and very little DT pressure - they all kind of just ended at the same time! It has been fun to find myself in my crafting again, and rediscover what I like without deadlines and a list of stamps I have to use. That being said, I want to find my groove again, and maybe tackle a few DT's without feeling so boxed in and pressured. Hmm...guess I answered all 3 questions! :-) Thanks for the sweet giveaway - those penguins are darling!
